Engine 911 The Road Back

I am no longer afraid of becoming lost, because the journey back always reveals something new.

 

         Engine-911 returned to Manhattan on the evening of September 10, 2009 where it was stored in the Engine-26 house, in Midtown, for the night.

         On the morning of September 11, Engine-911 was moved to Lower Manhattan where it was on display at the Engine-4/Ladder-15

house until 3 PM.  Engine-911 then traveled to Staten Island for a photo-op for the Staten Island Advance.  Click HERE to see photo.

        Engine-911 closed its visit to New York as part of the candlelight memorial service held by the FDNY Staten Island Retirees and conducted at the Alice Austin House in Staten Island.  The large bell, mounted in the bed of Engine-911 was sounded after the reading of each name of the Staten Island firefighters lost on September 11, 2001, after all of the names were read, the bell was used to sound the signal 5-5-5-5.
